Welcome!

On behalf of the Management and staff of the Tourism Institute of East Africa (TIEA), I would like to extend our warmest welcome to you to join us in your pursuit of quality education and career. You are showing interest in one of the greatest industries in the world! The world of Travel, Tourism & Hospitality is waiting for your embrace. TIEA offers you the opportunity to grow within this national, regional, and internationally dynamic industry, starting at any level you prefer whilst giving you the opportunity to specialize in the area you mostly relate to. The opportunities that lie within this industry are countless, as not only does it cover a multitude of organizations, but opportunities also lie in the relationship and connection between each of these entities as well as areas that cross other industries too. This makes our industry a solid platform for you to grow within a huge network. Here at TIEA, we strive to offer you the possibility of specializing in the various segments that fall under the Travel, Tourism & Hospitality industry, but also strengthening your opportunities to reach the wider spectrum of the industry. The COVID-19 pandemic hit, yes, but that did not sentence the industry to a close or collapse. The industry was hard hit and yet, it had to remain open and active to cater to the needs of the people. As we rise up to train and equip the post-COVID-19 Human Resources, we keep in mind the new trends of the industry and benchmark with our partners in the sector to get to know the new dynamics of training needs. We keep our ears on the ground to know the needs in the sector in order for us to adjust our training towards meeting the current and future needs.

The Tourism Institute of East Africa has been able to get back to the expansion program. We have opened two campuses ( Mbarara in December 2021 and Mukono in September 2022). More campuses and centers are scheduled to open up in the next 12 months. We continue to expand our partnership base in Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality. One of TIEA's uniqueness is that it is the leading Tertiary training institute in Africa that has a deficit of trained human resources to supply the market. Our students are booked up to 6 months in advance by our partners range from Travel Agencies, Tour Companies, Restaurants, and Hotels. The staff at TIEA are overwhelmed by the demand for students from the Institute. Parents/Guardians/Sponsors who have entrusted us with their children have never looked back because they are sure of their return on investment in terms of paying tuition and other requirements for their children.  As part of the team at TIEA,  I am humbled, because while graduates from Universities and other Tertiary training institutes struggle to even get internship placements, our students are retained while doing internships!! Management is proud of the staff who make this happen. They spend hundreds of hours delivering quality training to our students. I welcome you all to enroll for 2-year Diplomas, 2-year Certificate,s or Short Courses that range from 5 days to 3 months that you will never regret!

Thank you!
